The providers of Golden Valley Health Centers were the first to build a relationship and affiliate with Sequoia Health, setting the stage for other physicians to join.
Golden Valley Health Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center that was established in 1972. Their dedicated team provides exceptional health care to all they serve in the Merced, Stanislaus and San Joaquin Counties in California’s Central Valley. They provide quality, primary health care services to everyone regardless of language, financial or cultural barriers. GVHC now has over 38 locations and serves over 150,000 patients annually.
Through the partnership, Golden Valley Health Centers primary care physicians are able to collaborate with like-minded specialists and ancillary providers.

Scheduling an Appointment
You may schedule an appointment with your primary care physician by calling the office during normal business hour. Click here to find a physician near you.
If you are new to Sequoia Health, we encourage you to make an appointment as soon as possible to connect with your physician, coordinate any ongoing care, and discuss your own personal healthcare needs. Arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to complete paperwork. Please bring your health insurance care and co-payment, if applicable.
After Hours Care
You don’t always get sick during the normal business hours. Before heading to the ER, you may want to consider urgent care centers.
In the case of life-threatening emergency, please call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room.

Announcing Our Preferred Specialty Pharmacy, California Specialty Pharmacy January 2019 Sequoia Health is pleased to announce that California Specialty Pharmacy has been selected as a preferred specialty pharmacy provider to support the specialty and infusion medication needs of Sequoia Health patients.
California Specialty Pharmacy (CSP) is a leading full-service specialty pharmacy that provides quality drugs and services to patients with specialty medication needs. We anticipate that our new partnership with CSP will deliver improved service and greater convenience to our patients and providers and help Sequoia Health in ensuring the effective and appropriate use of these medications. Furthermore, CSP will help us ensure our patients taking specialty medications to get the support they need. They focus exclusively on supporting patients on specialty medications with personalized care, 24/7 access to clinical experts, patient education, refill reminders, free home delivery, and more.
Effective January 1, 2019, all NEW specialty drug prescriptions will be fulfilled by the CSP. This change will apply only to the new orders and will NOT affect the current members who are already using specialty medications.
Starting April 1, the CSP will manage all specialty pharmacy needs. Transitioning members will be carefully orchestrated by Sequoia Health to ensure patient care and treatment are not interrupted. Our priority is to ensure that the patients taking specialty medications have a smooth transition.
A valid prescription must be submitted with your prior authorization request. Implementation of this simple step will expedite authorization processes and meet appointment demands and increase your patient satisfaction.

- Providers and practitioners are not prohibited from acting on behalf of the member.
- Physicians cannot be penalized in any manner for requesting or authorizing appropriate medical care.
